All-American Status for Six #AETF Student-Athletes

Eugene, Oregon - New Hampshire senior Elinor Purrier capped her illustrious career with her 11th All-American honor at the 2018 NCAA Track and Field Championships. A national champion in the mile, Purrier finished her outdoor season with a time of 4:11.56 in the 1,500-meter run, good for seventh place and a spot on the first team.

UMBC freshman Kelechi Nwanaga put a stamp on her debut collegiate season with First-Team All-American honors. Nwanaga placed fourth in the javelin with her heave of 180'6" on Thursday.

Michael Shanahan was named a Second-Team All-American with his 13th-place finish in the hammer throw. The New Hampshire senior concluded his college career with his second-straight All-American denomination.

UMBC senior Tony White was also named to the second team after finishing 16th in the javelin.

Binghamton senior Keishorea Armstrong and Albany junior Walter Briggs earned honorable mentions for their performances in the long jump and 400m hurdles, respectively.
