Hartford, Stony Brook, UMass Lowell Net Final #AEBASE Weekly Awards

BOSTON – The final week of the #AEBASE regular season concluded with Hartford clinching its first ever regular season title and UMass Lowell earning the No. 2 seed in its first postseason in Division I. The 2018 America East Baseball Championship begins on Wednesday, May 23 at the University of Maine.

Here are the final weekly awards:
 
Player of the Week
TJ Ward, Hartford – Sr., 1B, Jersey City, N.J.

• Hit .467 in final week of regular season to help Hartford clinch their first-ever #AEBASE regular season title.
• Slugged 1.000 and drove in 10 runs over the course of four games.
• This is Ward's first Player of the Week award this season. 

Pitcher of the Week
Greg Marino, Stony Brook – So., RHP, Lake Grove, N.Y.

• Tossed seven shutout innings in Friday’s win over UMass Lowell.
• Struck out five batters and allowed four hits.
• This is Marino’s second #AEBASE award of the season.

 
Rookie of the Week
Henry Funaro, UMass Lowell – Fr., RHP, Lowell, Mass.

• Pitched five shutout innings, earning the win over Stony Brook on Saturday.
• Allowed four base-runners while striking out four.
• This is his third Rookie of the Week award this season.
