#1 Stony Brook, Binghamton Earn Critical Wins, Final #AEWLAX Awards
BOSTON – The final day of the regular season included two matchups between teams vying for seeding in the #AEWLAX Championship. The four teams playing in the postseason had already been decided but wins by #1 Stony Brook (17-0, 7-0 AE) and Binghamton (8-8, 5-2 AE) on Saturday set the semifinals games in stone.
With their win over Albany, the Seawolves clinched their sixth consecutive regular season title and will host the championship, beginning on May 4. They completed the first undefeated season in league history and retained their top national ranking in both the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse polls.
The Bearcats earned their first win over New Hampshire in program history and, subsequently, will be the three seed in the championship. They will make their first postseason appearance in school history on Friday against Albany.

Offensive Player of the Week
Kylie Ohlmiller, Stony Brook – Sr., Attack, Islip, N.Y.
- Totaled 17 points in two games, 10 of which came in win at Albany that clinched the regular season title for #1 Stony Brook.
- Scored two goals and notched five assists in win over #16 Penn State, the Seawolves' eighth win over a ranked opponent this season.
- This is Ohlmiller’s 18th career #AEWLAX Offensive Player of the Week award and seventh in 2018.
Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Jehle, Binghamton – Sr., Goalkeeper, Stony Brook, N.Y.
- Tied a season-high with 11 saves in net in Binghamton’s first-ever win over New Hampshire.
- Allowed seven goals and saved 61 percent of shots in decisive final game of the regular season.
- This is Jehle’s first career #AEWLAX award.
Rookie of the Week
Rachel Walchuck, UMBC – Fr., Midfielder, Myersville, Md.
- Scored three goals in the Retrievers’ win over Hartford in the regular season finale.
- Took four shots, three of which were shots on goal.
- This is Walchuck’s first career #AEWLAX honor.
