Week 4 #AETF Awards Revealed
BOSTON – America East track and field programs were scattered around the East Coast last weekend. Some of the highlights from a variety of meets included New Hampshire sweeping the Wildcat Invitational, Albany’s women’s team placing second at the UConn Northeast Challenge and UMass Lowell earning runner-up finishes in the men’s and women’s competition at the Dartmouth Outdoor Invitational.
Here are this week’s award winners:
Female Track Performer of the Week
Amanda Stead, Stony Brook – Fr., Mid-Distance, Miller Place, N.Y.
- Broke the school record in the 400m dash at the UConn Northeast Challenge.
- Stead’s time of 55.07 ranks first in America East this season.
- This is her first career #AETF Performer of the Week honor.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Ryan Udvadia, Albany – Sr., Distance, Shoreham, N.Y.
- Won the men’s 1,500-meter run at the UConn Northeast Challenge.
- His time of 3:49.48 is a personal best and ranks first in the conference.
- It is his first #AETF Performer of the Week award this season.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Kaylyn Gordon, Stony Brook – Sr., Jumps, Spring Valley, N.Y.
- Won the triple jump and took third in the long jump at the UConn Northeast Challenge.
- Her mark of 12.68m in the triple jump ranks first in the conference and 41st nationally.
- This is Gordon's first Performer of the Week award of the outdoor season.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Michael Shanahan, New Hampshire – Sr., Throws, Dover, N.H.
- Helped New Hampshire to victory at the Wildcat Invitational by placing first in the hammer throw.
- Shanahan’s toss of 227’5” broke his own school record and ranks 12th in the country.
- It is his first #AETF Performer of the Week award of the outdoor season.
