Three #AETF Programs Earn Weekly Honors

BOSTON – Maine, UMass Lowell and New Hampshire all competed at the UNH Season Opener last weekend. In women’s competition, the Black Bears edged out the Wildcats by one point to win the meet. New Hampshire earned a decisive victory in the men's competition. UMass Lowell and New Hampshire also competed in the Colonial Relays with Stony Brook.
 
Here are this week’s award winners:

Female Track Performer of the Week
Chinque Thompson, Stony Brook – Jr., Sprints, Toronto, Ontario
  • Won the 100-meter dash at the Colonial Relays.
  • Her time of 11.80 ranks second in the conference this season.
  • This is Thompson's first #AETF Performer of the Week award of the outdoor season.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Benjamin Davis, Maine – Sr., Distance, Harrington Park, N.J.
  • Won the 100m dash at the UNH Season Opener in a time of 10.85.
  • He also won the 200m dash in a time of 22.36 to help Maine to second-place finish.
  • It is his first #AETF Performer of the Week award this season.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Ariel Clachar, Maine – Jr., Jumps, Stafford, N.H.
  • Won the long jump to help the Black Bears to victory at the UNH Season Opener.
  • Her jump of  18'4.25" is the best mark in America East this season.
  • Clachar also ran the opening leg of the winning 4x100 relay.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Matt Baker, Binghamton – Sr., Jumps, New York, N.Y.
  • Baker won the triple jump at the Princeton/Sam Howell Open.
  • His mark of 48'2.75" is the best by an America East student-athlete in 2018.
  • It is his first #AETF Performer of the Week award of the season.
