UMass Lowell, Binghamton Win #AESB Series, Net Week #8 Honors
BOSTON – Conference play continued for #AESB teams over the weekend with UMass Lowell sweeping three games from Hartford, Binghamton taking two of three from UMBC and Albany and Maine splitting a pair of contests.
Here are the 2018 week #8 award winners:
Player of the Week
Courtney Cashman, UMass Lowell – So., SS, Danvers, Mass.
- Had a 1.909 OPS last week hitting .727 (8-for-11) with a walk, two doubles and a home run in UMass Lowell’s three-game sweep of Hartford.
- Scored seven runs and drove in four.
- This is her second #AESB Player of the Week honor of the season.
Pitcher of the Week
Rayn Gibson, Binghamton – So., P, Bel Air, Md.
- Went 3-0 with a 1.05 ERA for Binghamton last week.
- Struck out 26 while allowing just 15 hits in 20 innings of work.
- This is Gibson’s first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Sarah Ratcliffe, UMass Lowell – Fr., 3B, Pelham, N.H.
- Drove in seven runs and scored four in UMass Lowell’s three-game sweep of Hartford;
- Hit a grand slam to seal the River Hawks’ 11-1 win Sunday.
- This is her first #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
