Stony Brook Remains No. 1 in Nation, #AEWLAX Awards Handed Out
BOSTON – For the second consecutive week, No. 1 Stony Brook (4-0) leads the national rankings in women’s lacrosse. The Seawolves defeated No. 8 Northwestern on the road 15-10 on Saturday. The team’s 8.0 goals allowed per game are the fifth-fewest in the country.
UMBC junior Sara Moeller leads the nation with 8.0 points per game. Stony Brook senior Courtney Murphy is fourth with 6.0 points per game and her teammate Taryn Olhmiller also ranks inside the top-10.

Offensive Player of the Week
Sara Moeller, UMBC – Jr., Attack, Phoenix, Md.
- Had two eight-point games in UMBC’s 1-1 week.
- Tallied nine goals and seven assists in the two games combined.
- This is Moeller’s second consecutive #AEWLAX Offensive Player of the Week award.
Defensive Player of the Week
Brooke Gubitosi, Stony Brook – Sr., Defense, East Northport, N.Y.
- Caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls in Stony Brook’s lone game.
- Helped the Seawolves to their fourth win over a ranked opponent.
- It is her first #AEWLAX Defensive Player of the Week award of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Kendra Harbinger, Albany – Fr., Midfield, Clifton Park, N.Y.
- Recorded a hat trick in Albany's lone game last week.
- Also had a game-high six draw controls against Dartmouth.
- This is Harbinger’s second #AEWLAX award this season.
