#1 Albany Sweeps #AEMLAX Week #7 Awards
BOSTON – The nation’s top team improved to 2-0 in conference play while also picking up another non-conference victory last week. With wins over Canisius and UMass Lowell, #1 Albany (8-0) remains the only undefeated team in the country.
Here are the 2018 week #7 award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Sean Eccles, Albany – Jr., Midfielder, Syracuse, N.Y.
- Tallied eight points on six goals and a pair of assists in 2-0 week.
- Scored a career-high five goals and two assists in win over UMass Lowell.
- This is the second #AEMLAX weekly award this season for Eccles.
Defensive Player of the Week
JD Colarusso, Albany – Sr., Goalkeeper, Poughquag N.Y.
- In two wins, had 6.73 GAA and .686 save percentage.
- Colarusso made a career-high 20 saves in #1 Albany’s 13-6 win over UMass Lowell.
- This is his second Defensive Player of the Week award of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Tehoka Nanticoke, Albany – Fr., Attack, Six Nations, Ontario
- Had a pair of six-point games for #1 Albany.
- Totaled seven goals and five assists in the two games combined.
- This is Nanticoke’s second consecutive Rookie of the Week award and fourth this year.
