Stony Brook, UMBC Open Conference Play 2-1, #AEBASE Weekly Awards Bestowed
BOSTON – Conference play began last weekend with Stony Brook (9-8, 2-1 AE) and UMBC (5-9, 2-1 AE) finding the win column in their opening series. The Seawolves and Retrievers play at their home ballparks against Binghamton and Hartford, respectively. Albany (8-5), Maine (4-17) and UMass Lowell (7-10) are scheduled to begin conference games this weekend.

Player of the Week
Michael Wilson, Stony Brook – So., RF, Colonia, N.J.
- Hit .429 in the Seawolves’ series win against Binghamton.
- Drove in 10 runs in three games and also scored four.
- Slugged 1.071 behind three doubles and a pair of timely home runs.
Pitcher of the Week
Dominic Savino, Albany – Jr., RHP, Smithtown, N.Y.
- Struck out a program-record 15 batters in seven innings against Hofstra.
- Allowed four hits and one run, earning a complete game win.
- This is Savino’s first #AEBASE Pitcher of the Week award this season.
Rookie of the Week
Brad Malm, Albany – Fr., IF, Medford, N.Y.
- Hit .385 in Albany’s 2-1 series win over Hofstra.
- Tallied one RBI and three runs while reaching base 42 percent of the time.
- This is his second consecutive #AEBASE award.
