Fields Leads #1 Albany Past #14/12 Vermont, Nets #AEMLAX Weekly Honor
BOSTON – In a battle between two of the last three remaining unbeaten teams in men’s lacrosse, top-ranked Albany beat #14/12 Vermont, 21-5, Saturday. Tewaaraton Award nominee Connor Fields led the Great Danes’ attack, totaling 10 points on four goals and six assists.
The Great Danes remained the unanimous #1 team in the nation in both the UISLA Coaches’ Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll this week. Despite the loss, the Catamounts, who are off to a 7-1 start, are #16 in this week’s media poll.

Offensive Player of the Week
Connor Fields, Albany – Sr., Attacker, Buffalo, N.Y.
- Racked up 10 points in #1 Albany’s 21-5 win #14/12 Vermont.
- Scored four goals and assisted on six.
- This is Fields’ third Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season and 11th of his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Hunter Braun, UMass Lowell – Fr., Goalkeeper, Hartland, Mich.
- Had a .610 save percentage in two games last week.
- Made a school-record 21 saves in a 14-10 win over Binghamton Saturday.
- This is Braun’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Tehoka Nanticoke, Albany – Fr., Attacker, Six Nations, Ont.
- Had three goals and a pair of assists in #1 Albany’s 21-5 win #14/12 Vermont
- This is Nanticoke’s third Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
