Cannata Earns 700th Win, Week #4 #AESB Awards Announced 3/13/2018 5:38:01 PM BOSTON – Albany’s and Stony Brook’s softball programs both posted impressive weeks with the Great Danes going 5-0 and the Seawolves going 3-1, including wins over Power 5 programs Pitt and Rutgers and reigning MEAC champion Florida A&M. Albany head coach Chris Cannata became just the 44th coach in Division I history to reach the 700-win mark. Here are the 2018 week #4 award winners: Player of the Week Sarah Petzold, Albany – Jr., OF, Carol Stream, Va. Hit .385 and slugged .769 with a home run, two doubles in a perfect 5-0 week for Albany. Drove in six runs and scored four. This is Petzold’s first-ever Player of the Week honor. Pitcher of the Week Taylor Pechin, Stony Brook – Jr., P, Harrington, Del. Went 2-0 with a save, allowing just three earned runs vs. Rutgers, Pitt and Florida A&M. Recorded a 1.37 ERA in 15 1/3 innings of work. This is Pechin’s first career #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor. Rookie of the Week Sara Siteman, UMass Lowell – Fr., C, Hudson, N.H. Had a .444 on base percentage and a .429 slugging percentage in four games last week. This is Siteman’s first career #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
