All-American Honors for Purrier, Shanahan and Armstrong
College Station, Texas – A trio of senior track and field student-athletes earned All-American honors for their performances at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. New Hampshire’s Elinor Purrier won her first ever national title on Saturday, finishing the women’s mile in 4:31.76 to become the fourth America East student-athlete and first since 2012 to win an individual championship. She was named a First-Team All-American, bringing her career total to nine overall.
Michael Shanahan earned First-Team All-American honors in his first career NCAA Championships appearance. The New Hampshire senior placed seventh in the men’s weight throw, tossing 72’8.5”.
Binghamton’s Keishorea Armstrong finished 13
th in the women’s long jump. With her final jump of 19’7.5” Armstrong was named a Second-Team All-American selection.
