Maine Draws Even with Albany in Standings, Sweeps #AEHoops WBB Awards
BOSTON – With three weeks remaining in the regular season, Maine has pulled even with Albany atop the #AEHoops women’s basketball standings. The two teams, who met in the championship game each of the previous two seasons, are both 8-2 in conference play. Behind a 2-0 week, the Black Bears have won six straight games since losing to Albany on January 13. The two teams will meet again on the final day of the regular season.
New Hampshire’s win over Albany on Saturday snapped a three-game skid and marked the first time since 2010 that the Wildcats defeated the Great Danes in back-to-back seasons. As it relates to the standings, the Wildcats’ (6-4) win pulled them into a tie with Binghamton and Hartford. Stony Brook (5-5) is one game back of the trio after earning a road win over Hartford.
