Week #2 #AESB Awards Handed Out
BOSTON – Five more #AESB programs began their seasons over the weekend as Albany, Binghamton, Hartford, Maine and Stony Brook all kicked off their season.
Here are the 2018 week #2 award winners:
Player of the Week
Casey Harding, UMass Lowell – So., Infielder, Cheshire, Conn.
- Had a 1.221 OPS and hit .438 (7-for-16 with a home run and triple in five games.
- Drove in three and scored a pair of runs.
- This is Harding’s first-ever Player of the Week honor.
Pitcher of the Week
Annie Kennedy, Maine – Jr., Pitcher, Sound Beach, N.Y.
- Went 1-0 with a 0.54 ERA in 11 innings of work last week.
- Surrendered just five hits, walked none and struck out seven.
- This is Kennedy’s first career #AESB Pitcher of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Amelia Ely, Albany – Fr., Infielder, Vienna, Va.
- Had a 1.319 OPS with three RBI in three games of action last week.
- Went 3-for-4 with a home run in Albany’s win over East Carolina Sunday.
- This is Ely’s first career #AESB Rookie of the Week honor.
