Maine Wins Regular Season Title, Sweeps #AEHoops Awards
BOSTON – The #AETourney bracket is set after an exciting end to the 2017-18 women’s basketball regular season. Maine (13-3) clinched its 15
th regular season title in program history and first outright since the 2004-05 season. Stony Brook (10-6) enters the postseason with the longest active winning streak in the conference at five games. Championship play begins with the First Round game between UMBC (3-13) and UMass Lowell (1-15) on Wednesday in Baltimore. Quarterfinal and semifinal games return to Portland on March 3.

Player of the Week
Tanesha Sutton, Maine – Jr., G, Philadelphia
- Averaged 22.0 points and nine rebounds in 2-0 week for Maine.
- Scored career-high 27 points in win over Albany that clinched the regular season championship.
- Connected on 82 percent of her shots in two games combined.
- It is Sutton’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Dor Saar, Maine – Fr., G, Ma’Anit, Israel
- Averaged 9.5 points and 4.5 assists in Maine’s 2-0 week that led to regular season title.
- Recorded 11 points and career-high nine assists in title-clinching win against Albany.
- Shot 55 percent and made half of her three-point attempts in two games combined.
- It is her fourth #AEHoops Rookie of the Week award of the season.
