Binghamton, UMBC Net Final Indoor #AETF Weekly Awards of Season
BOSTON – America East track and field programs competed in their final meets of the indoor regular season last weekend as the focus shifts to the 2018 Indoor #AETF Championships. For the second consecutive year, the championships will be held at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. Competition begins at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23 and the entirety of the two-day meet will be streamed live on
AmericaEast.TV.

Here are this week’s award winners:
Female Track Performer of the Week
Amani Wallace, UMBC – Jr., Sprints, Baltimore
- Finished third in the 200m dash at the Penn State Tune-Up meet.
- She crossed the finish line in a time of 25.35.
- It is her first #AETF Performer of the Week award this season.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Greg Matzelle, Binghamton – So., Sprints, Franklin Square, N.Y.
- Won the men’s 60m dash and was named Most Outstanding Sprinter at the Cornell Deneault Invitational.
- His time of 6.82 ranks second in the conference.
- It is his first #AETF Performer of the Week honor this season.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Samantha Beyar, Binghamton – So., Pole Vault, Monroe, N.Y.
- Won the pole vault at the Cornell Deneault Invitational.
- Her clearance of 12’5.5” was nearly six inches higher than the field.
- It is Beyar’s second Field Performer of the Week of the indoor season.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Matt Baker, Binghamton – So., Jumps, New York, N.Y.
- Placed fourth in the men’s triple jump at the Cornell Deneault Invitational.
- His mark of 48’3.25” ranks second in the conference this season
- This is Baker’s first career #AETF Performer of the Week award.
