UMBC Men, New Hampshire Women Lead after Day 2 of #AESD Championship
Worcester, Mass. – After two days of competition at the 2018 America East Swimming and Diving Championships, the UMBC men and New Hampshire women remain atop the standings. 15 events have been completed and 26 more will take place in the following two days.

Day 2 Highlights
- New Hampshire senior Liza Baykova broke an eight year-old record in the 50-yard freestyle. She first clocked in at 23.00 in the preliminary race then touched the wall in 22.95 in the finals to win her third consecutive gold in the event.
- Hania Moro of UMBC repeated as champion in the women’s 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:51.89.
- UMBC junior Alexander Gliese won his first America East gold medal, finishing the men’s 500 free in a time of 4:27.81.
- New Hampshire completed the sweep of women’s diving events as Allison Stefanelli earned a gold medal in the 3-meter with a score of 244.75.
- In the men’s 50 free, Ilia Rattsev nearly broke the meet record with a time of 20.00 en route to gold. Binghamton grabbed two of the top three finishes.
- The Vermont Catamounts won their third consecutive 200-yard freestyle relay at the championship.
