Six #AEHoops Teams Win Games, Week #7 Awards Handed Out

BOSTON – Six #AEHoops programs earned victories last week, including Vermont beating St. Bonaventure, the sixth win by an #AEHoops team over an Atlantic 10 squad this season.

  • Stony Brook’s 11 non-conference are its most ever at the Division I level in the regular season.
  • The Seawolves (11-3) are ranked 15th in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25.
  • Stony Brook is one of just two teams with six true road wins this year.
  • Vermont (9-4) beat St. Bonaventure Wednesday to win its sixth straight game. That streak, which ended Friday vs. Lipscomb, included victories over three Atlantic 10 teams,  Ivy League favorite Harvard and CAA favorite Northeastern.
  • The Catamounts are 22nd in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25.
  • America East teams have seven wins over Power 5/Atlantic 10 teams this season, including Stony Brook’s victory at South Carolina on Nov. 9.
  • Juniors Anthony Lamb (Vermont) and Akwaski Yeboah (Stony Brook) were both named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List earlier this year. The award is given to the top mid-major player in the country.
  • Lamb (22.0 ppg) ranks 24th in the nation in scoring.
  • Lamb’s 42 points vs. St. Bonaventure Tuesday were the most for an #AEHoops player since Jameel Warney had 43 in the 2016 league title game.
  • Hartford is one of just two Division I programs with three active 1,000-point scorers (John Carroll, Jason Dunne, J.R. Lynch).

Co-Player of the Week
Christian Lutete, UMass Lowell – Jr., Guard, Silver Spring, Md.
  • Scored a career-high 34 points and added six rebounds in a win over Loyola Friday.
  • Shot 12-of-18 from the field.
  • This is Lutete’s first career Player of the Week honor.
 
Co-Player of the Week
Anthony Lamb, Vermont – Jr., Forward, Rochester, Vt.
  • Averaged 31.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks in two games last week.
  • Scored a career-high 42 points in a win over St. Bonaventure Tuesday.
  • This is Lamb’s third #AEHoops Player of the Week honor of the season and his career.
Rookie of the Week
Sam Sessoms, Binghamton – Fr., Guard, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games last week.
  • Scored 25 points at Notre Dame Tuesday.
  • This is Sessoms’ fourth #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor this year.
