BOSTON – Stony Brook and Vermont continued their strong starts to the season last week. The Seawolves posted a pair of comeback wins to improve to 10-2, while the Catamounts extended their win streak to five and moved to 8-3 with a victory over CAA preseason favorite Northeastern. Hartford also posted a pair of wins and has won three of its last four games.

  • Stony Brook’s 10 non-conference are its most ever at the Division I level in the regular season.
  • The Seawolves (10-2) are ranked 15th in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25.
  • Vermont (8-3) is riding a five game win streak that includes a pair of road wins at Atlantic 10 schools and home wins over Ivy League favorite Harvard and CAA favorite Northeastern.
  • America East teams have six wins over Power 5/Atlantic 10 teams this season, including Stony Brook’s victory at South Carolina on Nov. 9.
  • Juniors Anthony Lamb (Vermont) and Akwaski Yeboah (Stony Brook) were both named to the Lou Henson Award Watch LIst earlier this year. The award is given to the top mid-major player in the country.
  • Yeboah (20.4 ppg) and Lamb (20.3 ppg) are two of just 51 Division I players averaging over 20 points a game this season.
  • Hartford is one of just two Division I programs with three active 1,000-point scorers (John Carroll, Jason Dunne, J.R. Lynch).

Player of the Week
George Blagojevic, Hartford – Sr., Forward, Geelong, Victoria, Australia
  • Averaged 27.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in leading Hartford to a 2-0 week.
  • Shot 76 percent from the field (19-of-25).
  • Had career-highs of 30 points and 15 rebounds in Hartford’s win at Bryant Wednesday.  37 points in Vermont’s win over preseason Ivy League favorite Harvard Saturday.
  • Scored a team-high 24 points in a win vs. Oakland Sunday.
  • This is Blagojevic’s first #AEHoops Player of the Week honor of the season and his career.
Rookie of the Week
Miles Latimer, Stony Brook – Fr., Guard, Fairfax, Va.
  • Averaged 16.0 points and 3.5 assists in a 2-0 week for Stony Brook.
  • Scored 18 points in a win over LIU Brooklyn on Wednesday and 14 points in Sunday’s victory over Delaware.
  • This is Latimer’s first career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
