New Hampshire, Vermont Net Final #AETF Awards of 2018

BOSTON – Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont track and field competed at Dartmouth last weekend in a quad meet. The Wildcats seized the day, winning the men’s meet and finishing second in the women’s team scoring. Hartford competed in the Yale Season Opener which did not include team scoring. All squads will now go on hiatus until January.
 
Here are the conference’s weekly award winners:
 
Female Track Performer of the Week
Shannon Murdock, New Hampshire – Sr., Distance, Exeter, N.H.
  • Won the 1000m run at the Dartmouth meet.
  • Murdock’s time of 2:52.14 is the best in the conference and ninth-fastest in the nation.
  • This is her second consecutive Performer of the Week award.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
John Benner, Vermont – Jr., Distance, Needham, Mass.
  • Won the 3000m at Dartmouth.
  • His time of 8:21.19 ranks eighth in the country.
  • This is Benner’s first #AETF award of the season.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Lauren Quann, New Hampshire – So., Multis, Pictou, Nova Scotia
  • Finished third in the pentathlon with 3,102 total points.
  • Her score ranks first in America East.
  • This is her first career #AETF award.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Zachary Astle, New Hampshire – Jr., Throws, Newbury, N.H.
  • Won the weight throw with a personal-best 59’0.75” at Dartmouth.
  • Also placed third in the shot put with a mark of 50’11.5”.
  • This is Astle’s first #AETF honor of the season.
