Vermont Runs Win Streak to Four; Week #5 Men's #AEHoops Awards Announced

BOSTON – Vermont won twice to extend its win streak to four last week, winning at George Mason and home against Ivy League favorite Harvard. The Catamounts’ win at George Mason was the league’s fifth over an Power 5/Atlantic 10 team this season.

Here are the week #5 men’s basketball award winners:

Player of the Week
Anthony Lamb, Vermont – Jr., Forward, Rochester, N.Y.
  • Averaged 28.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in leading Vermont to two wins last week.
  • Scored a career-high 37 points in Vermont’s win over preseason Ivy League favorite Harvard Saturday.
  • Had 19 points and seven rebounds in a road win at Atlantic 10 foe George Mason Monday.
  • This is Lamb’s second #AEHoops Player of the Week honor of the season and his career (11/19).
Rookie of the Week
Sam Sessoms, Binghamton – Fr. Guard, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Averaged 21.0 points and 3.0 assists in two games last week.
  • Shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the floor, including 8-for-16 from three-point land.
  • This is Sessoms’ third career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor. (11/12, 11/26).
