UAlbany, Maine, Pacific Advance to #AEFH Semifinals
PALO ALTO, Calif. – The 2018 #AEFH semifinal matchups are set after UAlbany, Maine and Pacific all won quarterfinal games on Friday.
Kesley McCrudden scored the lone goal in East #1 UAlbany’s 1-0 win over West #4 UC Davis to begin the day. Co-Goalkeeper of the Year Melissa Nealon made six saves in her ninth shutout of the year.
East #2 Maine was victorious in double overtime when Brianna Ricker found the back of the net on a breakaway. The Black Bears battled back from a 3-2 deficit late in regulation and advanced to the semifinals with a 4-3 win.
West #2 Pacific surrendered an early 1-0 lead but received two goals from two-time Offensive Player of the Year Kriekie van Wyk and fought off a late comeback bid from Vermont to advance to the semifinals for the fourth-straight year.
The Black Bears will take on West #1 Stanford on Saturday at noon pacific time for a chance to make their first championship game appearance since 2015.
The Great Danes and Tigers will play in the following game at 2:30 p.m. PT.
