BOSTON – The 2018-19 college basketball season kicks off on Tuesday and once again fans will be able to watch every America East game on ESPN networks this year. The AE on ESPN will be home to over 250 basketball games this season and more than 3,000 contests from a variety of sports over the next decade.

The 2018-19 season will mark the third in a row during which America East schools produce basketball games directly for ESPN. Two hundred and forty eight (248) regular-season contests will air on ESPN networks between November and March with 143 of those on ESPN+, the premium multi-sport, direct-to-consumer video service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment in conjunction with ESPN, and 101 on ESPN3, the network’s live multi-screen sports network.

Four men’s games on Feb. 21 have been deemed ‘wild card’ contests with one of the games slated to air on ESPNU. It will be the 12th straight year the conference has had a regular-season conference matchup televised on ESPNU.

All quarter and semifinal games of the America East Men’s and Women’s Basketball Playoffs will air on ESPN+. The women’s championship game will be televised on ESPNU on Friday, March 15. The men’s championship game will be televised on ESPN2 on Saturday, March 16.
“I continue to be impressed with the number and quality of broadcasts our schools are producing,” said America East Commissioner Amy Huchthausen. “The development and improvement our schools have made from year to year has truly been impressive and I look forward to seeing that continue during the new basketball season.”

In the third year of an 11-year agreement with ESPN, America East’s nine member institutions are working collaboratively with ESPN and the conference office to produce live content directly for ESPN+ and ESPN3. Over 500 school-produced events aired on ESPN3 and ESPN+ during the first two years, including 339 in 2017-18. America East schools have produced nearly 60 fall sport events so far this year.

ESPN+: ESPN+ gives fans direct-to-consumer subscription streaming access to thousands of additional live events, on-demand content and original programming not available on ESPN’s TV or digital networks. In addition to America East, ESPN+ programming includes thousands of live college sports events – football, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse and more – from other leading college conferences, including:  Atlantic 10, Atlantic Sun, Big South, Conference USA, Horizon League, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Southern, Southland, Summit League, Sun Belt and The Ivy League.

ESPN3:  ESPN3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually, at no additional cost to fans who access it using their “TV Everywhere” credentials from an affiliated high-speed Internet or video subscription provider.

Both ESPN+ and ESPN3 are accessible through the ESPN App on computers, smartphones, tablets and most major streaming devices, as well as through ESPN.com.

Any contests not produced for ESPN+ or ESPN3 can be seen on AmericaEast.TV, including the Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Additionally, select ESPN+/ESPN3 events will be simulcast on AE.TV for international audiences. Visit AmericaEast.TV for more information.

About America East: The America East provides its member schools and their athletic programs a platform upon which student-athletes can achieve both collegiate and life success through the promotion and nurturing of athletic excellence, academic achievement and leadership, on and off the field.
