Six #AEWSOC Teams Earn League Wins, Week #8 Awards Bestowed

BOSTON – League play rolled on last week with two full slates of games. Hartford won its lone game of the week over Maine to improve to 3-0-1 in conference play, stretching an unbeaten streak to 10 games. Albany compiled a pair of wins to improve to 2-1-1 in league play.

Offensive Player of the Week
Meghan Cavanaugh, Albany – So., Midfielder, Clifton Park, N.Y.
  • Compiled a total of seven points in a pair of league wins for Albany.
  • Cavanaugh scored in both wins, totaling three goals and an assist on the week.
  • This is Cavanaugh’s first career #AEWSOC award.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Mia Neas, New Hampshire – Sr., Goalkeeper, Old Saybrook, Conn.
  • Notched back-to-back shutouts in 1-0-1 week for New Hampshire.
  • Saved seven shots against UMass Lowell and four against Stony Brook.
  • Neas has been named #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Emily Nelson, UMass Lowell – Fr., Midfielder, Peabody, Mass.
  • Scored a hat trick within span of 15 minutes in win over Binghamton.
  • Converted on all three of her shots against the Bearcats and also played all 110 minutes of double overtime game against New Hampshire.
  • Nelson was also named Rookie of the Week on 9/10/18.
