#AEFH Championship Bracket Set; UAlbany Stanford Earn Top Seeds
The 2018 America East Field Hockey Championship bracket has been determined with the conclusion of the regular season on Sunday. Eight teams will head to Stanford University for the tournament, which will take place Nov. 1-4.
UAlbany and Stanford earned the top seeds for the fourth-straight season. With their win over Vermont on Sunday, the Great Danes have won at least a share of the East Division crown five consecutive years. Maine earned the East #2 seed for the fourth consecutive year. Vermont will make its first tournament appearance since 2015 as the east #3 seed. New Hampshire clinched the #4 seed in the east by virtue of Maine’s win over UMass Lowell on Sunday.
Stanford and Pacific shared the West Division title for the fourth-straight season. Both teams finished the regular season 5-1 in league play and split the regular season series. The Cardinal earned the top seed by virtue of outscoring the Tigers 5-4 in the two regular season meetings. Pacific will be the #2 seed in the west, California will play as the #3 seed in the west and UC Davis will be the west #4 seed.
The championship begins with quarterfinal action on Thursday, November 1. The entire championship will be streamed for free at AmericaEast.TV and will be available on computers, tablets and smartphones.
