Stony Brook First Team to Clinch #AEMSOC Tourney Bid, Week #9 Awards Bestowed
BOSTON – Vermont handed Stony Brook its first loss in conference play over the weekend, but the Seawolves still became the first #AEMSOC team to clinch a berth in the 2018 America East Men’s Soccer Championship. The Catamounts, UMBC and UMass Lowell are tied for second place with nine points with two games remain in the regular season.

Jon Arnar Barðdal, Vermont – Jr., Midfielder, Garobear, Iceland
- Scored a goal in Vermont’s 2-1 win over Stony Brook, the Seawolves’ first league loss of the season.
- This is his first #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
Defensive Player & Rookie of the Week
Quantrell Jones, UMBC – Fr., Goalkeeper, Baltimore, Md.
- Stopped 11 of 12 shots he faced in a 2-0 week for UMBC last week.
- Made a career-high eight saves in a 1-0 win over Binghamton Saturday.
- This is Jones’ first Defensive Player of the Week honor and second Rookie of the Week award of the season (10/8/18).
