#AEVB Conference Play Continues; Week #6 Awards Announced

BOSTON – This past weekend Stony Brook (3-0) and UAlbany (2-0) maintained their perfect records in #AEVB conference play. The Seawolves have now won five straight games while the Great Danes extended their winning streak to four. Hartford picked up its first conference win. Six more #AEVB games will take place this weekend.

Here are the conference's weekly award winners:

Player of the Week
Chloe Evering, UAlbany – Jr., OH, San Marcos, CA.
  • Averaged 4.00 kills per set while adding 5 digs and 2 blocks in 2-0 week for the Great Danes.
  • Had a career-high 20 kills hitting a .317 in a 3-1 victory against Binghamton.
  • Helped UAlbany win their 12th consecutive regular season match.
  • This is Evering’s first career #AEVB Player of the Week award.
Setter of the Week
LeAnne Sakowicz, Stony Brook – Jr., Setter, Wauconda, Ill.
  • Ranked second in the conference with 10 assists per set leading the Seawolves to just its third 2-0 start in #AEVB play in program history.
  • Notched 44 assists and 18 digs in 3-1 win over New Hampshire.
  • Paced Stony Brook to a league-best .295 hitting percentage.
  • This is Sakowicz’s seventh career #AEVB Setter of the Week award.
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Kiani Kerstetter, Stony Brook – So., L/DS, Cardiff, CA.
  • Averaged 5.42 digs per set in 2-0 week for Stony brook.
  • Helped the Seawolves hold opponents to a league-best .083 hitting percentage.
  • This is Kerstetter’s fourth #AEVB Defensive Specialist of the Week honor.
Co-Rookie of the Week
Andersen Vaughan, UAlbany – Fr., Setter., Leesburg, VA.
  • Averaged 9.87 assists per set in 2-0 week for UAlbany, the third-best mark in the league.
  • Earned first double-double with a career-high 41 assists and 12 digs in 3-1 win over Binghamton.
  • This is Vaughan’s first #AEVB Rookie of the Week award of her career.
