Stony Brook Remains Unbeaten in League Play; Week #8 Awards Handed Out
BOSTON - Over the weekend #AEVB hit the midway point as four teams picked up wins. Stony Brook sits atop the standings at a perfect 6-0 with UAlbany at 5-1 in second place and New Hampshire in third with a 4-2 record. As the second half of the season begins, #AEVB programs will fight for the top six spots in the league standings to qualify for the 2018 #AEVB Championship.

Player of the Week
McKyla Brooks, Stony Brook - Sr., MB, Blasdell, NY.
- Averaged 4.17 kills per set in a perfect week for Stony Brook ending with a .362 hitting percentage.
- Also added 7 blocks and 4 digs.
- Helped the Seawolves to their eighth straight win and remain undefeated in conference play (6-0).
- This is Brooks' second career #AEVB Player of the Week award.
Setter of the Week
Megan Anderson, Hartford - So., Setter, Orono, MN
- Recorded 103 assists averaging 11.4 per set.
- Added 7 kills and 5 blocks while helping to Hawks hit .253 for the week.
- Tallied a career-high 55 assists in Friday's game vs UMBC.
- This is Anderson's third career #AEVB Setter of the Week award.
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Kiani Kerstetter, Stony Brook - So., L/DS, Cardiff, CA.
- Averaged 6.00 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Seawolves.
- Helped hold teams to a .141 hitting percentage for the week and improve Stony Brook's record to 6-0 for the first time since 2009.
- This is Kerstetter's fifth #AEVB Defensive Specialist of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Paige Krenik, UMBC - Fr., OH., Foothill Ranch, CA.
- Recorded a career-high typing 18 kills and a career-high 22 digs in 3-2 win over Hartford.
- Added a block and hit the match-winning kill in the five-set win at Hartford.
- This is Krenik's second #AEVB Rookie of the Week award of her career.
