Three Teams Clinch #AEFH Postseason Bids, Week #8 Awards Announced

BOSTON – Three #AEFH programs clinched a spot in the championship last weekend as #17 Maine, #23 Albany and Vermont all found the win column. The Black Bears did so with a pair of league wins while the Great Danes were victorious in their lone game on Friday. The Catamounts punched their ticket in thrilling fashion with a double overtime win at UMass Lowell.

Offensive Player of the Week
Casey Crowley, Maine – Sr., Midfield, New Plymouth, New Zealand
  • Netted a hat trick in #17 Maine’s win over UMass Lowell Friday.
  • Also scored against Dartmouth as part of a three-win week for the Black Bears.
  • This is the first Offensive Player of the Week award of the season for Crowley and the second of her career.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Melissa Nealon, Albany – Jr., Goalkeeper, Mechanicville, N.Y.
  • Recorded her fifth shutout of the season to help #23 Albany clinch a postseason berth.
  • Made four saves in win over Vermont.
  • This is Nealon’s second Defensive Player of the Week honor this year.
 
Rookie of the Week
Nina Keur, Maine – Fr., Midfield, Naarden, Netherlands
  • Scored a total of four goals in three games last week.
  • Keur found the back of the net twice against New Hampshire the Black Bears’ second league win of the week.
  • This is her second #AEFH Rookie of the Week honor.
