New Hampshire, VMI Garner Final #AESD Awards of Season
BOSTON – The regular season has concluded for America East swimming and diving programs as attention turns to the 2018 America East Swimming and Diving Championships. The women’s programs for New Hampshire and Maine squared off in a season finale last weekend with the Wildcats securing a 167.5-106.5 victory. VMI closed their first regular season as a member of the conference.

Here are the final weekly award winners of the season:
Female Swimmer of the Week
Liza Baykova, New Hampshire – Sr., Freestyle, Moscow, Russia
- Set a pool record in the 100 free with a first-place time of 49.85.
- She also won the 50 free in a time of 23.50 and anchored the 200 medley relay.
- It is Baykova’s fifth #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season.
Male Swimmer of the Week
John Kim, VMI – Sr., Backstroke, Fairfax, Va.
- Kim broke two of his own school records, first in the opening 100 backstroke leg of the 400 medley relay.
- His second-place time of 1:52.83 in the 200 set another record and ranks fourth in the conference.
- It is his second Swimmer of the Week honor of the season.
Female Diver of the Week
Allison Stefanelli, New Hampshire – So., Dives, Loudonville, N.Y.
- Won the 3-meter diving against Maine with a conference-best score of 266.84.
- Placed second in the 1-meter with a score of 229.95.
- It is her fourth #AESD Female Diver award this season.
