Marsha Florio Named Executive Director of the America East Academic Consortium
BOSTON – Commissioner Amy Huchthausen announced today the hiring of Marsha Florio as Executive Director of the America East Academic Consortium. Florio began her duties on Jan. 22.
“I am so appreciative of this exciting opportunity to work with such a dynamic staff committed to the growth and development of its student athletes as well as the student experience at its respective institutions,” said Florio. “I look forward to building on the foundation that has already been established and continue showcasing the creative initiatives and academic innovation happening across the conference membership.“

“We are thrilled to welcome Marsha to our staff to oversee the America East Academic Consortium,” said Huchthausen. “Juliette did an outstanding job establishing the consortium and developing its initial programming and we have great confidence that Marsha will continue to build on the strong foundation that is already in place.”
Florio came to America East from UMass Boston where she served as Assistant Vice Provost for IT Business Operations and Senior Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Athletics, Recreation, Special Projects & Programs prior to that. In her roles, Florio oversaw budgets and strategic planning initiatives as well as organizational management, operations and professional development for the division.
