Men's #AEHoops Play Begins This Week, Week 8 Awards Announced
BOSTON – Conference play for all nine men’s #AEHoops teams begins this week. Six teams take the floor on Wednesday, while reigning champion Vermont puts its 21-game conference win streak on the line when it visits UMass Lowell Thursday.

Here are the week #8 award winners for the 2017-18 season:
Player of the Week
Tanner Leissner, New Hampshire – Sr., Forward, Converse, Texas.
- Contributed a season-high 32 points, eight rebounds and three assists in UNH’s win over Dartmouth Saturday.
- Shot 9-of-16 from the field and 10-of-14 from the free throw line.
- This is Leissner’s first Player of the Week honor of the season and fifth of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Josh Hopkins, New Hampshire – Fr., Guard, Greensboro, N.C.
- Scored 11 points and added three rebounds in just 21 minutes of action to help UNH beat Dartmouth Saturday.
- Had all 11 points before halftime to help the Wildcats build a 15-point halftime lead they would not relinquish.
- Shot 4-of-8 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point land.
- This is Hopkins’ first career Rookie of the Week honor.
