Albany Hosts Great Dane Classic, Receives Three #AETF Awards
BOSTON – A busy week in #AETF included Albany hosting the 2018 Great Dane Classic, a meet that had no team scoring but welcomed both Binghamton and UMBC to Albany for competition. Vermont and Maine competed in a quad meet at Dartmouth with Maine's men’s team totaling 128 points, just two shy of first place. The men for UMass Lowell also had a successful weekend, finishing second in the Beantown Challenge at Harvard.

Female Track Performer of the Week
Dayleen Santana Rodriguez, Albany – Sr., Sprints, Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico
- Placed fourth in the 60m in time of 7.50.
- Rodriguez broke her own school record, which she set last year.
- It is her first #AETF Female Track Performer award this season.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Sidney Gibbons, Albany – Jr., Hurdles, St. Albans, N.Y.
- Placed fourth in the 60m hurdles at the Great Dane Classic.
- Time of 7.96 is a personal best and ties the school record set in 2009.
- His time also ranks 25th in the country.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Samantha Beyar, Binghamton – So., Pole Vault, Monroe, N.Y.
- Won the pole vault at the Great Dane Classic.
- Cleared a height of 12’3.5”.
- It is the highest vault in the conference this season.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Kingsley Ogbonna, Albany – Sr., High Jump, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.
- Placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 6’10.25”.
- The performance ranks first in the conference.
- It is his first Indoor #AETF weekly award of the season.
