Saager Continues to Shine, Earns 2nd #AEWOC Player of Week Honor
BOSTON – Seven #AEWSOC programs earned victories last week, including reigning conference champion Albany, which won its first two matches of 2017.
Here are the conference's week three award winners:
Player of the Week
Kayla Saager, Binghamton - Jr., Forward, East Islip, N.Y.
- Tallied two goals and an assist in a 1-1-1 week for the Bearcats.
- Had an assist in a tie with Niagara Monday and one goal in each of her next two games, a loss to Fairfield Friday and a win over Iona Sunday.
- Leads the league and is tied for ninth nationally with 12 points on four goals and four assists this season.
- This is Saager’s second #AEWSOC Player of the Week award of the season and second of her career (8/20).
Rookie of the Week
Ella Bankert, Vermont - Fr., Midfielder, Cuttingsville, Vt.
- Scored her first career goal, the game winner in overtime, in Vermont’s 2-1 win over Brown Saturday.
- The win was just Vermont’s fourth in 19 all-time meetings vs. Brown.
- This is Bankert’s first career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week award.
