UMass Lowell's Loughnane, Stony Brook's Moffett Net First #AEXC Awards of Season
#AEXC Week 1 Awards
BOSTON – The 2017 #AEXC season is underway after all but two teams competed in meets over Labor Day weekend. Both the men’s and women’s teams for Stony Brook triumphed in the Stony Brook season opener. Albany men and Vermont women began their seasons with victories at the America East Pre-Conference Meet held at the site of the 2017 #AEXC Championship in Vermont.
Here are the first weekly winners of the season:
Male Performer of the Week
Vann Moffett, Stony Brook – So., Niantic, Conn.
- Moffett won the men’s 6K at the Stony Brook Season Opener with a time of 18:24.07
- Led the Seawolves to a first-place against Quinnipiac, Fordham and Sacred Heart
Female Performer of the Week
Kathryn Loughnane, UMass Lowell – Sr., North Attleboro, Mass.
- Loughnane paced the field in the America East Pre-Conference Meet, finishing the 5K in 17:38.2
- Helped the River Hawks to a third-place finish in St. Albans, Vermont
