Pinheiro Named Senior CLASS Award Nominee, Week #5 Awards Unveiled
BOSTON – Albany’s Afonso Pinheiro helped Albany extend its winning streak to three games by tallying three points last week and was also named one of the 30 nominees for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award Friday. The award is given to an NCAA Division I senior who has made notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
Along with Albany, New Hampshire continued its strong start to the season and remains one of eight unbeaten teams in the country. The Wildcats, who lead the nation with a .12 team goals-against average, were ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches’ Poll last week.
