Albany, Cal, Stanford Pick Up #AEFH Wins, Week #4 Awards
BOSTON – Conference play began for four #AEFH squads last week as Albany, Cal and Pacific all got off to 1-0 starts. The Great Danes beat New Hampshire, 4-0, while Cal upended Pacific, 4-1, and Stanford beat the Tigers, 1-0. Stanford and Albany remained ranked in the NFHCA Coaches poll with the Cardinal coming in at #12 and Albany rising one spot to #20.
Here are the conference's week four award winners:
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Camryn Dias, Albany – Jr., Forward, Hopedale, Mass.
- Scored twice in Albany’s league-opening 4-0 win over New Hampshire.
- This is Dias’ first career #AEFH Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Melina Moore, California – Jr., Forward, Los Gatos, Calif.
- Tallied a goal and an assist to lead Cal to conference-opening win over #24 Pacific.
- This is Moore’s first career #AEFH Offensive Player of the Week honor
Defensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Bing, Stanford – So., Goalkeeper, Houston, Texas
- Stopped all seven shots she faced and recorded a shutout in a 1-0 win over #24 Pacific.
- This is her second #AEFH Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season and third of her career (8/29/17, 10/27/16).
Rookie of the Week
Katie MacCallum, Albany – Fr., Forward, Edinburgh, Scotland
- Had a goal and an assist in Albany’s league-opening 4-0 win over New Hampshire.
- This is MacCallum’s first #AEFH Rookie of the Week honor of her career.
