Murphy, Florenz Net Week #2 #AEWSOC Awards
BOSTON – Five #AEWSOC program picked up wins last week, including Binghamton and UMass Lowell, who both stayed unbeaten in the 2017 campaign. Both programs are unblemished through three games for the first time in their Division I histories.
Here are the conference's week two award winners:
Player of the Week
Brooke Murphy, New Hampshire – Sr., Forward, Monson, Mass.
- Scored both goals in New Hampshire’s 2-1 win over Colgate on Friday.
- Found the back of the net in the 41st and 76th minutes to up her career goal total to 36.
- This is the two-time America East Striker of the Year’s first #AEWSOC Player of the Week honor of the season and fifth of her career (9/12/16, 10/5/15, 9/28/15, 8/31/15).
Rookie of the Week
Rachel Florenz, Stony Brook - Fr., Midfielder, East Islip, N.Y.
- Scored the game-winning goal in Stony Brook’s 2-0 win over UMass on Friday.
- Tallied three goals in the Seawolves’ two wins this season.
- This is Florenz's second-consecutive and second career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week award (8/21).
