BOSTON – Ready to begin its fifth-year as the place for fans to watch America East live events for free, AmericaEast.TV will offer a number of enhancements in 2017-18, including new ways for fans to consume live and on-demand content.
Announced in March, AmericaEast.TV will be hosted by Stretch Internet for the first time starting with the 2017-18 academic year and feature over 1,000 pieces of video from live events to game archives and highlights this year.
Enhancements to the network in include:
- A first-class viewing experience with 1080p HD streaming across all devices (computers, phones, tablets) in a native setting with no app download required.
- For the first time, AmericaEast.TV will be available on major OTT platforms, including Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV providing fans a seamless way to access content directly on their TVs – with no need to “relay” or “cast” the stream from a separate device. Users can access the content simply by searching for “America East” on the app interfaces on any of the compatible devices, and then downloading the free America East Network app. Using the professionally-designed, intuitive interface, fans can easily view a conference-wide schedule of live, upcoming and on-demand broadcasts – or filter by a specific school.
- Enhanced features such as live statistical and social media integration, instant highlights and the ability to watch multiple America East events simultaneously.
- Game archives available within minutes of an event ending.
- Simulcasts of The AE on ESPN3 events for international viewers for select events.
AE.TV, which can be found at www.AmericaEast.TV, has been the home of over 2,500 free live events produced by the conference’s member institutions and the league’s streaming partners since launching in 2013.
