SEACAUCUS, N.J. - Six America East baseball student-athletes were taken in the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, which was held June 12-14. Over the past seven years, 42 America East players have been drafted, including San Diego Padres outfielder Travis Jankowski and Atlanta Braves starter pitcher Sean Newcomb.

Hartford led the conference with three draft selections while Binghamton had two and UMass Lowell had one. The Bearcats' Justin Yurchak was the first off the board in the 12th round.
