School Records, Personal Bests Highlight #AETF Week 3 Awards

BOSTON – As the calendar flipped to April, outdoor track and field season was officially underway for all but one America East school. The 52nd annual Colonial Relays were held at The College of William and Mary where Binghamton, New Hampshire, UMBC, UMass Lowell, and Stony Brook all competed. Vermont competed at Bryant’s Black and Gold Invitational, while Albany competed in the Florida Relays. Maine then hosted New Hampshire and Bates on Sunday.

Stony Brook's Christine Eisenberg broke Stony Brook's school record in the women's 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:15.09. Her time also ranks seventh nationally.

Here are this week’s award winners:

 

 

 

Male Track Performer of the Week

 

Romario Bailey, Vermont - Sr., Sprints, Montego Bay, Jamaica

 

  • Won the 100-meter dash with an IC4A-qualifying time of 10.91 seconds
  • Also finished second in the 200-meter in an IC4A-qualifying time of 21.95 seconds
  • The 200m time was a personal best for Bailey and is fourth-best in outdoor school history

 

Male Field Performer of the Week

 

Jonathan Eustache, Albany - Sr., Throws, Rosedale, N.Y.

 

  • Placed third in the men’s discus throw at the Florida Relays
  • Mark of 180-07.00 (55.04m) is a personal best by four feet, nine inches
  • Ranks 28th nationally

 

Female Track Performer of the Week

 

Elinor Purrier, New Hampshire – Jr., Distance, Montgomery, Vt.

 

  • Placed first in the 1,500m run at the 52nd annual Colonial Relays with a school-record time of 4:14.48
  • It is the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA this season
  • Purrier broke her own record which she set in 2015

 

Female Field Performer of the Week

 

Kaylyn Gordon, Stony Brook – Jr., Jumps, Spring Valley, N.Y. 

 

  • Won the women's triple jump with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 12.26m  
  • Also placed fourth in the women's long jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 5.51m
