BOSTON – Weather pushed back the start of the outdoor season for several America East teams last weekend. Meanwhile, Stony Brook hosted and swept the Stony Brook Season Opener in both men's and women's competition. Their opening victories came against the likes of Columbia, Providence, La Salle and Iona.

Male Track Performer of the Week
Shane Harris, Stony Brook – So., Sprints, Saint James, N.Y.
- Won the men's 400-meter with a time of 50.50
Male Field Performer of the Week
Joseph Stanco, Stony Brook – So., Throws, Bethpage, N.Y.
- Won the men's shot put marking 13.28m
- Took second in the men's javelin throw marking 27.58m
Female Track Performer of the Week
Annika Sisson, Stony Brook – Jr., Distance, Pittsburgh, Pa.
- Won the women's 800-meter with a time of 2:15.85
- Part of the 4x800 team who took first with a time of 9:17.76
Female Field Performer of the Week
Rachel Hatcher, Stony Brook – So., Throws, Ridge, N.Y.
- Won the women's discuss marking 31.45m
- Won the women's shot put marking 10.62m
- Took third in the women's javelin throw marking 23.10m
