BOSTON - Nationally ranked Stony Brook continued to roll with another win last week to move to 3-0 and earned a pair of America East women's lacrosse weekly awards, giving them seven on the young season. UMBC went 2-0 on the road last week to grab their first weekly honor of the year. Here are the week four award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Sam Nolan, UMBC, Sr., A, Falston, Md.
- Helped UMBC to a 2-0 week with 4.5 goals and 1.5 assists per game.
- Tallied a career-high six goals in a 17-8 win over George Washington while adding an assist and three draw controls.
- Had three goals and two assists in a 10-8 win at American. Also added six draw controls.
Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Tesoriero, Stony Brook, So., GK, Huntington, N.Y.
- Made seven saves in a win over Marist.
- Allowed just three goals while picking up a pair of ground balls.
Rookie of the Week
Ally Kennedy, Stony Brook, Fr., M, North Babylon, N.Y.
- Earns her second Rookie of the Week honor.
- Scored a career-high four goals in a win over Marist.
- Also added an assist.
- Ranks 10th in the nation among freshmen with six goals on the year.
