BOSTON - The University of New Hampshire Wildcats clinched their first-ever outright America East women's basketball regular season title with a pair of wins last week and will be the No. 1 seed in the America East Championship that begins on March 4 in Portland, Maine. UMBC and Albany have clinched top-3 seeds in the tournament with the teams tied for second at 10-4. The final week of the regular season concludes on Sunday, February 26 with the full bracket to be released after all games have gone final. Here are the week 15 award winners:

Co-Player of the Week
Laura Castaldo, UMBC, Jr., G, West Nyack, N.Y.

  • Averaged 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Retrievers.
  • Went 15-25 from the field, 3-3 from 3-point range and 7-8 from the free throw line. 
  • Netted 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists in a win over Albany.
  • Notched career-highs with 24 points and 11 rebounds in a win over UMass Lowell.

Co-Player of the Week
Alyssa James, Binghamton, Sr., C, Rosedale, N.Y.

  • Posted a triple-double with 16 points 10 rebounds and an America East single-game record 11 blocks vs. Stony Brook on Saturday.

  • The 11 blocks also represents the highest total by a NCAA Division I women's basketball player this season.

Rookie of the Week
Allison McGrath, Fr., G, South Park, Pa.

  • Averaged 7.5 points, 1.0 blocks and 4.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week.
  • Notched 12 points and pulled down six boards in a win over UMass Lowell.
  • Had a pair of blocks vs. Albany, including blocking the potential game-tying three pointer  as time expired.
