New Hampshire, Albany Jump to Top of Standings; Stony Brook, Hartford Earn WBB #AEHoops Week 4 Awards

BOSTON – The New Hampshire Wildcats won two games last week, bringing their win streak to a league-high three. They have now won five of their last six contests and sit atop the standings after a win over Colonial opponent Northeastern. The Albany Great Danes are second in the standings and have also won five of their last six games, defeating Patriot League foe Holy Cross in their most recent game.
 
A pair of America East programs rank high nationally in several statistical categories. Stony Brook ranks third in the country in scoring defense, allowing 47.0 points per game. Binghamton ranks second nationally with 69 blocked shots on the season.

Sierra DaCosta, Hartford – So., G, Philadelphia
  • Scored career-high 26 points behind 52% shooting against ACC power North Carolina
  • Matched that point total in win against Niagara
  • Shot 57% from field and 45% from distance in 1-1 week for the Hawks
  • It is DaCosta’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor 
 
Rookie of the Week
McKenzie Bushee, Stony Brook – Fr., F, Pittsburgh
  • Averaged 10.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games for the Seawolves.
  • Scored career-high 14 points behind 69% shooting against No. 25 Syracuse.
  • Also added six rebounds in overtime loss to ACC foe
  • It is her first career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week award
