BOSTON – The #AEFoodFrenzy continued to make a profound impact in America East communities this past fall. For the third-straight year, the conference’s member institutions collected food items, totaling over 8,600, as part of the #AEFoodFrenzy and donated them to local food pantries.

The #AEFoodFrenzy is a conference-wide community service initiative designed to promote cohesion between America East’s member institutions while also providing significant donations to several charities in campus communities.

The 2017 #AEFoodFrenzy took place at fall athletic contests across America East campuses. In those designated games, partnering institutions will exchange one box of goods to be donated to charities of each school’s choice as a sign of the unified community service event. In addition to the campus events, donations were accepted online via You Give Goods. In total, 8,683 items were collected and donated.

The #AEFoodFrenzy reflects the missions of both the America East SAAC and the conference at large. In the three years of the #AEFoodFrenzy, over 25,000 items have been donated to charities in America East communities. The America East Conference and all its members are dedicated to impacting, engaging and growing a community that reflects the values and convictions of the conference.
