Albany, Stony Brook Combine to go 3-0 En Route to Earning WBB #AEHoops Week 6 Awards
BOSTON –Six America East women’s basketball programs have winning records entering the seventh week of the season. The Albany Great Danes remain atop the standings with a record of 8-2 after stretching their win streak to four with a win over Atlantic-10 opponent St. Bonaventure last week. The Stony Brook Seawolves were victorious in two games last week and are tied for second in the standings with New Hampshire.
Several America East student-athletes rank high nationally in multiple statistical categories. Binghamton senior Alyssa James ranks second in the country with 48 blocked shots this season. UMass Lowell senior Kayla Gibbs and Stony Brook junior Cheyenne Clark both reside in the top-30 in rebounding.

Player of the Week
Mackenzie Trpcic, Albany – So., G, Hamilton, Ontario
- Scored a career-high 21 points in Albany’s lone game of the week.
- Guided the Great Danes to victory over St. Bonaventure with a season-high nine assists.
- Made eight of her 17 shot attempts.
- It is her first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
India Pagan, Stony Brook – Fr., F, New London, Conn.
- Helped Stony Brook to a 2-0 week.
- Averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds.
- Shot 82 percent in two games combined.
- It is her first career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week award.
