New Hampshire Men, Albany Women Earn Wins, #AETF Week 2 Awards Announced
BOSTON – This past weekend in #AETF competition, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont competed in a quad meet at Dartmouth College. New Hampshire came away with a victory in the men’s team scoring and the Wildcats finished second in the women’s competition. The Albany women’s squad earned a victory at the UConn Multi Event Challenge.
Here are this week’s award winners:
Female Track Performer of the Week
Hannah Kimball, New Hampshire – Sr., Distance, Atkinson, N.H.
- Kimball won the 1000m to help the Wildcats to a second-place finish
- Her time of 2:58.22 was eight seconds faster than the second-place runner
- It is Kimball’s first #AETF Female Track Performer award this season
Male Track Performer of the Week
John Hassett, Maine – Fr., Distance, Castine, Maine
- Won the mile at the Dartmouth quad meet
- Finished in time of 4:20.76
- Also anchored the second-place 4x800m relay
Female Field Performer of the Week
Rachel Morrison, New Hampshire – Sr., Jumps, Westwood, Mass.
- Won the high jump in the Wildcats’ quad meet at Dartmouth
- Her clearance of 5’7.25” was an improvement from her jump a week ago
- It is her second consecutive #AETF weekly award
Male Field Performer of the Week
Michael Shanahan, New Hampshire – Sr., Throws, Dover, N.H.
- Another record-setting performance in the weight throw led the Wildcats to victory in their quad meet
- Shanahan’s winning throw of 70’5.75” ranks third in the country
- The senior also finished second in the shot put with a throw of 50’0.5”
