Four Programs Earn #AESD Week 7 Awards

BOSTON – It was a busy week in America East swimming and diving as all seven schools competed in meets. It was also a landmark weekend for Stony Brook, which hosted its first home meet of the season in a newly-renovated facility. The Maine men’s team had the highest finish of any America East program last weekend, finishing third at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Rhode Island.
 
Here are this week’s award winners:
 
Female Swimmer of the Week
Liza Baykova, New Hampshire – Sr., Freestyle, Moscow, Russia
  • Baykova won the 100 freestyle in a time of 50.61 at the Terrier Invitational
  • She also finished second in the 50 free, 200 free and 100 breaststroke
  • It is the senior’s third #AESD Female Swimmer of the Week award of the season
 
Male Swimmer of the Week
Ilia Rattsev, UMBC – So., Freestyle, Moscow, Russia
  • Set a Patriot Invitational record in the 100 free after touching the wall in a time of 44.81
  • Rattsev helped the Retrievers to victory in the 200 medley relay
  • It is his third #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season
 
Female Diver of the Week
Haley Tomlinson, Vermont – Fr., Dives, Kensington, Md.
  • Earned a fifth-place finish at the Terrier Invitational in the 3-meter dive with a score of 226.70
  • It is Tomlinson's third #AESD Female Diver award this season
 
Male Diver of the Week
Kyle Adams, Maine – So., Dives, Bangor, Maine
  • Won the 1-meter dive at the Harold Anderson Invitational with a score of 258.4
  • Adams placed third in the 3-meter event with a score of 225.35
  • It is the first #AESD Male Diver award of the season for Adams
