Purrier Recognized as All-American at NCAA Cross Country Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In her final NCAA Cross Country Championship, New Hampshire senior Elinor Purrier earned All-American honors for the second consecutive year. She finished the 6K race in 18
th place with a time of 19:53.3.
This is Purrier’s eighth career All-American designation in cross country and track and field combined. She capped another stellar cross country season in which she won her third America East Cross Country individual championship in four years and was subsequently named to the America East Cross Country All-Academic Team. The senior standout was also named Division I Northeast Region Female Athlete of the Year for the second time in as many years.
UMass Lowell senior Paul Hogan also competed in the NCAA Championships and finished the men’s 10K in 30:30.36. Hogan became the first River Hawk to compete in a Division I National Championship in the program’s first year of postseason eligibility. The senior also won the individual title at the 2017 #AEXC Championships and is a member of the All-Academic Team.
It is the fourth time in the past six years the America East was represented by at least one male and one female in the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
